You might think that professional organizers were born that way.
I can assure you that most definitely was not the case with me. As a kid I was the one with the path through the mess on my bedroom floor, the piles of junk behind my closet doors, and papers shoved into my desk drawers. Over time I realized I could never find anything or what I could find was crumpled or ruined. As I started to organize my room, I also realized I had more space, I could find what I needed (and my mom was much happier with me).
Over time, my organizing tendencies came more and more to the forefront. I naturally organized my belongings, files, and schedules without even realizing that what I was doing was unusual to some people.
I had friends who wanted me to help them organize their homes and I enjoyed helping them reclaim their spaces.
Professional Background
In my previous professional career, I worked as an Instructional Designer developing training materials. This job requires taking large amounts of information and organizing it in a way so that trainees can learn it. That job led into being a process improvement expert where I worked to streamline and eliminate waste in work processes.
With that professional background and my natural organizing tendencies, I decided that professional organizing was a way to combine two things that I enjoy doing and An Organizing Adventure was born.
